Near Zero Consumer Protection

The card is great because it works at Costco, outside of that, I cannot stress enough: User beware. We are NOT the sort to trigger disputes often, hardly ever in fact. But when it's for larger purchases and the merchant does not deliver AND refuses to work with us, then we have to turn to the infamous "chargeback". We had close to 400 pages of documentation when disputing including their guarantee as well as the merchants irrational responses. The case was VERY clear we were in the right. They waived it off with virtually zero explanation and refused to look into it further. $14K down the drain. Thanks Citi card. Great job protecting your customers. With over $420K put on the card in 2021 I think we have a pretty solid standing to review like this

Have a credit score in the 700’s and haven’t missed a payment in over ten years and still got denied. Approval odds said excellent. Guess not

In order to reply, you have to be a Costco member. People should still be able to apply only with different perks from a Costco membership.

Rewards are Hard to Claim

You have to wait until they email you a certificate for rewards from the previous year. Then you have to make a hard copy and physically take it to a Costco. You cannot use it for Costco online which means you have to deal with crowds, driving, and parking (never fun at Costco). If you could redeem the rewards online, maybe monthly, then I would give it 4 stars. Lower the APR and they'd get 5 stars.

Incompetent representives, absurd securoty

New card. Gave travel notice. 2 days in they freeze it. Go through verification. 2 days later, freezes again. They ask for a number I can ‘retrieve from the app’. I go through the app a dozen times and take screen shots. There is no ‘travel verification reference number’ I. The app. They insist it is there. So they completely freeze it until a call them with a number they will mail to my HOME. I’m out of the country for 2 more weeks! How does that help? Then, to make it worse, I get to my resort and log in and lo and behold, there is a number plain as day ON THE WEBSITE. Did they tell me that and just ask me to wait till I got to a real computer instead of their stupid app? Or even log in through my mobile browser? Nope. So now I can’t use my card for the duration of my trip. It’ll be relegated as a Costco only card from here on out. Don’t get this card for any other reason
