Decent Travel Card
Credit Karma Member

The sign-up bonus is pretty great. The thank you rewards portal is easy to use and the process is simple to book travel and/or transfer points to their partners. Unfortunately this card lacks the lounge access, TSA pre check etc. but nonetheless its a decent card to get into the travel rewards credit card game.

Credit Limit for Card is Useless
Credit Karma Member

My wife and I were both recently approved for new Citibank Premier credit cards. We have had a Citibank AAdvantage card for 35 years with a credit limit of $53,000 and a Citi business card with a credit limit of $20,000. Both cards are used sparingly due to the low benefits compared to our Chase cards. Both new Citi cards were issued with an extremely low maximum credit limit of $3000. (We average $15-$20k/monthly on credit cards and always pay the entire balance). When I contacted Citi requesting to transfer at least $5000 credit from our existing cards to the new ones, I was informed City does not allow transfer of credit between cards (Chase allows transfers without issue). We were both summarily denied credit increases on the new cards with the statement: "Try again after six (6) months. We want to see if you are trustworthy." We cancelled both new Citi cards as well as my Citi business card. No thanks Citibank.

Fraud Protection Problems
Credit Karma Member

Problems with Fraud Protection System. I have had a the Citi Premiere card and I am thinking of closing the account once I get the new Wells Fargo Autograph which is the competitor for this card. The reason is almost every other time myself or an authorized user tries to put a large transaction on, it gets blocked by the fraud detection department. That would be fine if I didn't have to keep waiting on letters with a code in the mail just to unlock my card. They keep telling me that they cant verify my identity in the system over the phone. Its become extremely inconvenient to wast time on the phone just to have to wait on a letter. I am switching my purchasing over to Wells Fargo autograph for the main categories, and Amex for travel. Really hate this card and company now.

Very upset!!!!
Credit Karma Member

Credit Karma suggested that I had good approval odds to receive this card and when I applied, I was denied. I’ve been approved for better credit cards than this one and now I have a hard inquiry on my credit report!!!

Worse customer service I experienced in 20 years
Credit Karma Member

Folks I've been a Citi card customer for a couple of years. I had al my son as authorized user. I called Citi to remove him because his lender Underwritter s closing on a new home purchase requested it. Somehow this citi card is unable to send a rooter via email or any other secure manner indicating he has been removed. I requested a fax and here we are 3 days letter still no fax. Also a letter By regular mail Nothing received yet. Even though I explained this is the only Pending matter to close on home Purchase and absent the letter we pay $3900 extra at closing for it being delayed. What a nightmare This turned into. I requested same from our capital one credit Card and they not o fly sent a secure email But also via docusign. It is evident by the 10 calls I've made to citi over the span of 10 days that they simply Do not care about customer service. In fact the majority of the customer service representatives had a total lack of empathy and care for our Siri ration and an utter disregard to help us. In fact some of them demonstrated complete apathy to our needs. I'm to say the least extremely disappointed that in todays dna and coanderi g the technological Resources this credit card company had they have an utmost Disregard for customer service. I will be cancelling the citi credit cards as they provide zero benefits compare to other companies that do have excelled customer service experiences.

Not Ideal

Instantly approved with a credit score of about 780 Since the gas station I usually go to doesn’t accept MasterCard, I’m not able to take advantage of the 3x back on gas The Chase Sapphire Preferred is a much more useful card for the same annual fee A card I don’t anticipate keeping / renewing in the future

Can’t give 0 stars so have to settle with 1star

Citi might have the most amazing service among all the credit cards. You will enjoy talking to customer care and they help you in every possible way and provide some great suggestions like closing a credit card. All your issues will be resolved if you follow their advice.
