Some of these reviews seem to come from people who already have a terrible habit of being unable to know what a budget is. I used a PNC auto loan to build my credit, it was super easy and convenient, and with auto bill pay I never had to worry about anything. Thanks to this loan and learning how yo manage my finances I was able to build my credit to levels I never thought I could and bought a house for my family. The problem is not this loan, it's people poor financial decisions.

This bank use to be straight and fair, not anymore. They reported my account as not paid when they were receiving my payments. Representatives tell you that their departments don't communicate, so you get tangled in the middle of their inept work. Tell you that they will send paperwork, but you don't receive it. Once they take your money they don't care about your business.

Could be worse, will update
Intuit Credit Karma member

I have been a PNC customer since they were my first bank account after getting a part time job. The loan process seemed to be going well, I was approved for my budget with a decent interest rate at the time. I was given a blank check to use at the dealers and was able to buy the car. Because I was a PNC customer already, I had set up automatic payments from my checking account. The problems started here. After making several payments I did not see any type or statement, bill or any documentation in my account and I never received any by mail. I only saw the money being removed from my checking account. The description didn't even indicate that it was for a PNC auto loan. I called customer service a few time expressing concern that I did not have any statements, and they told me they would look into it. After having the loan for about 3 years, they finally implemented online statements on my account. But that was short lived. As I recently paid off the loan, I notice that the entire account was removed from my PNC online account. So now I cannot access the statements anymore. I am now waiting for my title and a paid in full letter. If I don't receive it timely I will be sure to update this review.

DONT USE
Intuit Credit Karma member

Save yourself time and use someone else. The online portal is terribly designed. You only get an email for a payment made 50% of the time. Customer service is useless and they will keep transferring you between departments until you just give up. So frustrated and cannot wait to refinance with a different company. ALL I WANT TO DO IS MAKE A PAYMENT!

Double payments = double the interest rates
Intuit Credit Karma member

With over 6% of interest on an $11k car loan. Started paying double the required payments every month and realized they are taking double the monthly interest out. Doesn’t seem right and definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Horrible in every way.

This company will take your money and insist that you have missed payments even when you pay a month in advance. Run.

Hard No. Pass. Biggest mistake.

Don't do it. This lender was notoriously difficult to work with. From login issues, to disorganization and bad customer service, save yourself the never ending frustration. On the day I bought a brand new car, I was more happy to end my relationship with PNC. But alas, inaccurate reporting on my credit, I am still dealing with them after 2 years. Save yourself the headache, choose a different lender.

Horrible for trying to make a payment.

Can’t use a credit card to make a payment. It is cash only. Makes it impossible to make a payment if you don’t have cash.

Riddled with errors
Intuit Credit Karma member

I have been a loyal PNC Bank customer since I opened my account at age 16. But PNC made a simple clerical error that was devastating to my family - and they refuse to correct it. Long story short, we welcomed our new baby a few years ago. We used a PNC loan to buy a safer car. The automatic payments worked like clockwork for years. But PNC mistakenly stopped them. Then, they mistakenly sent notices to the wrong address. Before I knew anything was wrong, they reported us to a credit agencies. Now, years of planning and building our credit to apply for a mortgage are ruined. It would all be so simple to fix. The PNC employees I spoke to agreed the bank had made a mistake. All it would take is a simple letter. But they refused.
